She remembers being in the hallway of a school that she identifies as her own, urgently trying to stop something. There she encounters a silver-haired young man—
"Hey! You there! You're one o' them participants in that there Grand Prix thing, right?"
That's what she's trying to stop, she knows. He immediately pulls out a sword and wields it against her. She scolds him for the danger this poses.
"Whoa whoa whoa! What's the big idea!? You could poke someone's eye out, swingin' that thing around!"
He apologizes, but she's as determined as ever, invoking the student council and claiming, "I'm putting the kibosh on this tournament right now!"
He insists he's trying to stop the tournament, but then he asks her a strange thing: "Did you fall inside a TV?" At her confusion, he introduces himself as Yu Narukami, a former second-year at the school--Yasogami High--who recently transferred back out. She explains that she's the new student council president and then proceeds to grill him about the "tournament." He explains to her that something strange is going on with his friends, and he's ended up stuck here trying to rescue his little sister.
She's skeptical, but eventually she decides to believe him: he's been caught up in something a friend of his started. He thanks her for believing him, and she laughs and shrugs it off.
At that moment, a strange crashing sound attracts their attention, and while she wants to tell him to go home, she understands he's worried about his sister, and the two of them take off to investigate...
